Esanda

Esanda Finance Corporation Limited is an Australian finance company. It deals in car and boat finance as well as insurance. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Macquarie Group.

History

Esanda was a commercial financing division of the former English, Scottish and Australian Bank, the name Esanda being an acronym of that bank's name. On the merger with ANZ in 1969, Esanda became a part of ANZ Bank.

Purchase by Macquarie Bank

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission announced that they would allow the Macquarie Group to buy Esanda from ANZ.[1]

On 8 October 2015 Maquarie Group CEO Nicholas Moore announced the upcoming purchase of Esanda Dealer Finance unit for $8.2bn including debt.[2]
