Football Brisbane

Football Brisbane is the governing body responsible for the administration of Senior Men's, Senior Women's and Junior football (soccer) in Brisbane and some immediately adjoining areas, in Queensland, Australia.

Formation and responsibilities

Football Brisbane was formed in 2007, with the amalgamation of Brisbane Men's Football, Brisbane Women's Soccer Association, Brisbane North & Districts Junior Soccer Association, Brisbane Southern Districts Junior Soccer Association and Soccer Australia Referees (Brisbane). It administers a regional zone within Football Queensland, incorporating Brisbane, Ipswich and some immediately adjoining areas, such as Caboolture, Ipswich, Redland City and Logan City.

Each Football Brisbane member club has a team entered in either the State-based National Premier Leagues Queensland (NPL), Football Queensland Premier League (FQPL), or in the Brisbane Premier League or Capital Leagues 1, 2 or 3. A club may only enter one team (plus a reserves team) across the Capital League divisions, with any additional club teams being entered into the City Leagues, or the Under 20s or Under 18s competitions.

Football Brisbane is descended from the Anglo-Queensland Football Association, formed in May 1884 (see below).[1]
