Frank Emerson

Frank Collins Emerson (May 26, 1882  February 18, 1931) was the 15th Governor of the US state of Wyoming from January 3, 1927 until his death on February 18, 1931.

Born in Saginaw, Michigan, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan[1] in 1904.

Emerson was the Wyoming State Engineer from 1919 until his election as governor. In the 1926 election for Governor, he defeated Nellie Tayloe Ross, the first woman governor in the United States. He died only six weeks into his second term at the age of 48.
