History

Foundation

Gangtok Himalayan SC was founded in 2012 in Gangtok, the capital of the Indian state of Sikkim and have since participated in various amateur tournaments.

In January 2016 they were officially certified by the All India Football Federation to participate in the I-League 2nd Division, the second tier of football in India. This move would begin a new chapter for Gangtok Himalayan Football Club as they would officially become professional.

I league

The Indian FA are all set to invite bids for that vacant spot in the I-League and Gangtok-based Sikkim Himalayan Football Club are one of the front-runners to submit the bid 2020-21.

Stadium

Paljor Stadium

For their I-League 2nd Division the club announced that they would play all their home matches at the 25,000 seater Paljor Stadium in the capital of Sikkim, Gangtok.
