History

The Aboriginal people, in this area, the Awabakal, were the first people of this land. [2]

The area had orchards and market gardens before it was developed in the 1950s. The public school opened in 1958. The area was formerly named Cherryville.

Tickhole Creek flows through the area, meeting Winding Creek at Cardiff.
