George M. Scott (Minnesota judge)
George M. Scott (September 14, 1922 – May 25, 2006) was an American lawyer and jurist.
Originally from New Jersey, Scott received his bachelor's degree from University of Minnesota and his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law. He then practiced law in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Scott was a Minnesota deputy attorney general and attorney for Hennepin County, Minnesota. In 1970, Scott sought the Democrat nomination and lost the race. In 1973, Scott was appointed to the Minnesota Supreme Court and served until 1987, when he retired in Miami, Florida because of ill health. Scott had five children, three of which became attorneys themselves. Scott was very proud of his Irish heritage, being the son of an Irish immigrant, Francis Patrick Scott. [1][2]
