Headquarters South West is a Regional Point of Command unit of the British Army,[1] based at Tidworth, Wiltshire.

History
The regional headquarters role was assigned to 43 (Wessex) Brigade[2] at Jellalabad Barracks, Tidworth, until December 2014[3] when the brigade was co-located with 1st Artillery Brigade.[4][5]
Role
Among the unit's responsibilities is the organising of the annual Ten Tors walking challenge on Dartmoor.[6] It also works with Wiltshire College, Wiltshire Council and other organisations to provide employment training for spouses and adult dependents of Army personnel.[7][8]

The Headquarters, which is based at Jellalabad Barracks, Tidworth,[9] has administrative control over the following units:

- South West Region Chaplains, Royal Army Chaplains' Department, at Jellalabad Barracks, Tidworth
- Provost Branch, Adjutant General's Corps Headquarters, at Trenchard Lines, Upavon[10]
- Educational and Training Services Branch, Adjutant General's Corps, at Trenchard Lines, Upavon[11]
- Directorate of Army Legal Services, at Trenchard Lines, Upavon[12]
- Ajax Training Group[13] (providing operational conversion training for the General Dynamics Ajax)
- Royal School of Signals, at Blandford Camp[14]
- Land Warfare Centre, HQ at Waterloo Lines, Warminster
- Defence College of Technical Training, at MoD Lyneham[15]
- British Army Band Tidworth, at Lucknow Barracks, Tidworth[16]
