Himayatnagar, Hyderabad

Himayatnagar is a densely populated part of the city of Hyderabad. It is also a mandal in Hyderabad District . It adjoins the localities of Narayanguda, Basheerbagh and Hyderguda. It has been surveyed to be most literate locality in Telangana, with over 80% literacy rate.

Geography

Himayatnagar is located at South Eastern side of Hussain Sagar.

History

The locality was named after Mir Himayat Ali Khan (Azam Jah), 1st son of the last Nizam of Hyderabad.[1]

Himayatnagar developed into the residential and commercial frontier of the city around the mid 1960s.

Himayatnagar is has shopping many leading brands have outlets in the locality. Hotels and restaurants such as Alex Kitchens, Masala Republic (Dadu's) and Blue Fox are located in Himayatnagar. It also has restaurants such as Paradise, KFC, McDonald's and Dominos.
