Overview

The programme was the direct replacement for previous business news programme Jeff Randall Live, which came to an end when Jeff Randall announced he was to leave the broadcaster.

Ian King Live was broadcast as a 30-minute show in the evenings at 6:30 pm Monday to Thursday, however has moved around the schedule. Having moved to lunchtimes in 2018, it was typically broadcast at 1:30 pm Monday to Thursday. In March 2020, in response to an adapted Sky News schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kay Burley was extended by thirty minutes and a second daily edition of Ian King Live was introduced at 9:30 am for thirty minutes.

As of September 2020, the show now airs as one 60-minute programme broadcast at 10 am and now airs five days a week, Monday to Friday.
