At the 2010 census Idlewild had a population of 43. The population density was 93.6 people per square mile (36.1/km2). The racial makeup of Idlewild was 43 (100.0%) White. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0 people (0.0%).[3]

The whole population lived in households, no one lived in non-institutionalized group quarters and no one was institutionalized.

There were 17 households, 5 (29.4%) had children under the age of 18 living in them, 9 (52.9%) were opposite-sex married couples living together, 2 (11.8%) had a female householder with no husband present, 1 (5.9%) had a male householder with no wife present.
