Illya Shevtsov

Illya Shevtsov (Ukrainian: Ілля Сергійович Шевцов; born 13 April 2000) is a professional Ukrainian football midfielder who plays for Desna Chernihiv.

He is a son of Ukrainian footballer and coach Serhiy Shevtsov.[3]

Career

Shevtsov started his professional football career at 15 playing in the Ukrainian Second League for FC Krystal Kherson. He made his debut in the Ukrainian Second League in a home game against FC Real Pharma Odesa coming out as a substitute at the end of game on 8 August 2015.[4]

Earlier on 22 July 2015 Shevtsov also came out as a substitute in a away game of the club against FC Real Pharma Odesa in the Ukrainian Cup.

In December 2016 he signed with Shakhtar where he played for a year for its under-19 team.[3]

Desna Chernihiv

In 2019 Shevtsov signed with FC Desna Chernihiv and in the 2019–20 UPL championship among under-21 team he became a top scorer.[5]

Illya Shevtsov was included as the in the team Desna Chernihiv against VfL Wolfsburg for the Europa League third qualifying round at the AOK Stadion and played in the second half replacing Pylyp Budkivskyi.[6]

On 24 October 2020 he scored his first goal, the winning goal for a 0–2 win against Olimpik Donetsk at the Lobanovsky Dynamo Stadium for the Ukrainian Premier League in the season 2020-21.[7]

On 30 January 2021 he scored against KF Shkëndija in the second half in the friendly match ended 3-1 for Desna.[8]

National Team

In 2017 Shevtsov was on the Ukraine under-17 team helping it qualify for the 2017 UEFA European Under-17 Championship in Croatia.[9] He played 7 games and scored a goal.[9] Shevtsov did not make the squad to go for the finals.

He was included in the team of Ukraine U21 for the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification Group 8.[10]On 9 October 2020, he made his debut in Ukraine U21 against Romania U21, replacing Danylo Sikan at the 66' minutes of second half.[11][12]

On 13 November 2020, he scored his first goal with the Ukraine U21 against Malta U21 on the away victory 1–4 away at the Gozo Stadium, Gozo for the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification Group 8.[13]
