Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chamoli

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chamoli or locally known as JNV Pipalkoti is a boarding, co-educational school in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state in India. Navodaya Vidyalayas are funded by the Indian Ministry of Human Resources Development and administered by Navodaya Vidyalaya Smiti, an autonomous body under the ministry.[1]

History

The school was established in 1993, and is a part of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya schools which provide free education to gifted children. The school shifted to its permanent campus in 2001. This school is administered and monitored by Lucknow regional office of Navodaya Vidyalaya Smiti.[2]

Geographic location

JNV Chamoli is located on National Highway 7, about 800 mtr from village Pipalkoti. It is located in hilly area of Chamoli district at an elevation of about 1300 mtr. It is 26 km away from Gopeshwar, the headquarter of Chamoli district.

Admission

Admission to JNV Chamoli at class VI level is made through selection test conducted by Navodaya Vidyalaya Smiti. The information about test is disseminated and advertised in Chamoli district by the office of Chamoli district magistrate (Collector), who is also chairperson of Vidyalya Management Committee.

Affiliations

JNV Chamoli is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education with affiliation number 3540008.[3]
