Jersey Devil Coaster
The Jersey Devil Coaster is an upcoming single-rail roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey. The roller coaster is being built by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) and is set to open in 2021. It is themed to the Jersey Devil, a mythical creature rumored to live in the New Jersey Pine Barrens.[1]

History
On August 29, 2019, Six Flags Great Adventure announced that the Jersey Devil Coaster would be built and opened for the park's 2020 season, replacing the former Looney Tunes Seaport area of the park.[2][3] Jersey Devil Coaster was considered one of the top 10 new roller coasters anticipated for the 2020 season according to USA Today.[4]
Due to growing concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, Six Flags announced a suspension of operations across the company on March 13, 2020.[5] This included all operations at Six Flags Great Adventure, including the construction for the new coaster. The park resumed operations on July 3, 2020, with the Jersey Devil Coaster still fenced in for construction.[6][7] Earlier in April 2020, Six Flags announced measures for the company to survive the pandemic, including deferring capital projects across the company that was slated for the 2020 season.[8] In June 2020, the park announced that the opening of the Jersey Devil Coaster had been delayed to the 2021 season.[9][10] The park resumed construction on the coaster in late December of 2020.[11]
Ride experience
The Jersey Devil Coaster will use four trains, each containing 12 rows, with one passenger per row. It will be a single-rail roller coaster with two inversions.[2][12]
According to renderings, after going up the 130-foot (40 m) tall lift hill, the train will go down a 87° drop, which leads into a dive loop and then an 180° stall. It will then go up into a turnaround, which drops down into a zero-G roll. After a mid-course brake run, the train will go over a few airtime hills, before fully braking at the end and turning around to go back into the station.[2]
