José Padilla (academic administrator)

José D. Padilla is an American academic administrator. He will become President-Elect of Valparaiso University on January 1, 2021, and will assume the university presidency by March 1, 2021.[1]

Padilla is from Toledo, Ohio. He earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Toledo and a juris doctorate from the University of Michigan School of Law.[2]

Padilla will be Valparaiso University's 19th president. He was most recently vice president, university counsel, and secretary of the University of Colorado system, and previously held similar roles for 15 years at DePaul University.
