During NATO bombing of Novi Sad in 1999, military complex Majevica was heavily bombed and devastated.

Area located in the south of former Jugovićevo airport and Majevica military complex was for long time uninhabited. Construction of first commercial buildings in this area started during the 1990s and was followed by construction of residential buildings.
