Karlštejn is a market town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has a population of about 900.

History
In 1952, it was created by merging of Budňany and Poučník municipalities and named after Karlštejn Castle.
Tourism
The large gothic castle Karlštejn is one of the most famous and most frequently visited castles in the Czech Republic.[2]
