Kazimieras Simonavičius University

Kazimieras Simonavičius University (previously: Vilnius Academy of Business Law (VABL), Lithuanian: Vilniaus verslo teisės akademija) is a private university in Vilnius, Lithuania. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania licensed the former Vilnius Academy of Business Law on August 26, 2003. Teaching started in 2004. In 2012, the university changed its name to honour Kazimierz Siemienowicz (ca. 1600–1651), a military engineer, artillery specialist, and pioneer of rocketry.

History

2003 – 2011 University functioned as the Vilnius Academy of Business Law

2004 Klaipėda branch was opened

2012 Kazimieras Simonavičius University changed its name and management, and stepped into a new phase of activities.

2012 Merged with Business Management Academy.

2012 Accreditation of six new undergraduate programmes (International Business Law, Creative and Cultural Industries, Entertainment and Tourism Industries, Entrepreneurship and Management, Marketing and Advertising, Business Management) as well as three new master's degree programmes (Organizational Innovation And Management, Geopolitical Strategy, Foresight and Strategic Management).

2012 The university became a member of the Erasmus exchange programme.

2013 The university received a LST EN ISO 9001:2008 quality certificate.

2013 Accreditation of seven new bachelor's degree programmes (Aviation Management, Law and Economic Security, Fashion Industry, Political Communication and Journalism, Business Management, Sociology, Internet Engineering) as well as two new master's degree programmes (Integrated Creativity Communication, Creativity Economy).

2016 Lithuanian institutional accreditation of a maximum of six years

2016 Accreditation of two new LL.M (Master of Laws) programmes: LL.M In European union law in global challenges environment, LL.M In International trade and business law, MBA (Master of Business Administration) which is taught in Russian and English.

International Partnerships in Higher Education

The University has student exchange agreements with over 100 universities all over the world. KSU offers multiple opportunities for students and academics to participate in foreign professional training's and educational projects. Each semester there are compulsory and optional courses, which are taught by foreign academics from all over the world.

Location

The main campus of Kazimieras Simonavičius University is located in Vilnius, and the university maintains a second campus in Klaipėda.

Academics

The university offers 13 bachelor's and five master's programmes in law, communication, economics, and management,[1] and has the right to award PhD degrees.[2]

The studies cover major areas of Social Sciences – Business and Management, Public Administration, Law, Communication, Political Sciences. The University offers eleven Bachelor's, five Master's and one Integrated programmes, as well as life-long learning studies and courses.
