Kian

Kian (Persian: كيان, romanized: Kīān), also known as Shahr-e-Kian (Persian: شهر کیان, romanized: Shahr-e Kīān), is a city in the Central District of Shahrekord County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran. At the 2016 census, its population was 12,948.[2]

Name

Before it had been called "Sorkhe Laar", which later became known as the "Shahrak"[3] and in the last few decades called "Kian".

Language

Although Kian is located near Shahrekord, where the people of Shahr-e-Kord and most of its suburbs speak Persian and Bakhtiari, the Kian people are speaking Turki qashqai.

Gardens and parks

Ghezel Hesar Park is located in the southeast of Kian city, along the Khuzestan road, on an area of 23 Hectares and has an active area of 3.2 Hectares. A walkway of more than 2 km around this park has been constructed for walking and cycling called "Neshat Road".
