Koniamman Temple
Koniamman Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Koniamman and is located in Town Hall, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. Koniamman is the guardian deity of the city.

History
Koyamma, the goddess worshiped by chieftain Koyan evolved into Koniamma and the name of the city Koyambuthur could have been derived from Kovaiamma.[1] The temple dates back to 16th century A.D.[2] A 84 feet (26 m) gopuram, the tallest in the region was completed in 2011 at a cost of ₹1.75 crore (US$250,000).[3]
