Konice
Konice (Czech pronunciation: [ˈkoɲɪtsɛ]; German: Konitz) is a town in Prostějov District in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,800 inhabitants.

Etymology
The name of the town is derivered from Czech koně (horses) and is connected with stables which served as a resting place for horses during the long journeys to the Czech lands.
History
Konice was first mentioned in 1200.[2]
Economy
The most important factories are Moděva Konice and Kovo Konice.
Sights
The most important monument is the Baroque chateau from 1705. Other monuments include the parish church of the Virgin Mary Birth founded in 1506, which houses a unique wooden pulpit.
