Early life

Singing wasn't exactly the first talent Led discovered in himself. In fact, he used to dance a lot during school events before learning songs by Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson and Regine Velasquez in his pre adolescent years. He was a subject of bullying because he doesn't look like a typical Filipino. His curly hair, dark skin and body weight became issues of bullying in school which made him shy.

Career

In 2001, he debuted as a Stand Up Comedian in Padi's Point Biñan and eventually performed in different bars in Laguna before having a mini concert in 2003 in Quien's Bar in Calamba. In 2004, he joined and won as the champion in Submarina, the Siksik Sirena. A singing contest of Magandang Tanghali Bayan for Plus sized singers which is a spoof of Marina and eventually became the frontliner of the Comedy Band, The Fatbabes which performed in different bars in and outside Manila. During his band performing days, Led's repertoire were mostly songs by female artists and covered wide range of genres including Pop, R&B and Rock. He is known for being able to imitate voices of different female singers, as he had performed Lani Misalucha's Divas Medley as a special number on the band's gig. In 2006, the Fatbabes was featured in Rufa Mae Quinto's music video of the song Ocean Deep shot in Baywalk. And in 2008, he auditioned for The Singing Bee and eventually landed a spot as part of The Songbees for 5 seasons (2008–2010).[1] After The Singing Bee, he had the chance to perform in various events locally and abroad most notably in Singapore for The Filipino Association in Singapore's 74th Anniversary alongside Frenchie Dy, Alakim, Marcelito Pomoy and Martin Nievera in 2012 and in Papua New Guinea Filipino Community with Frenchie Dy in 2009.[2] In 2012 he stayed in Dubai for 3 months to perform in a Filipino Bar and returned the same year to perform at Asiana Hotel's Boracay Bar and Makati Bar. And in 2013 he performed at M2M Club in Concorde Hotel Singapore for 1 month. And in September 2015 he made a short appearance in ABS-CBN's daytime drama Ningning after 3 years hiatus.
