Lee Wei Ling

Dr Lee Wei Ling is a Singaporean neurologist and a former director at the National Neuroscience Institute. Daughter to the late Lee Kuan Yew, the first Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Wei Ling is also the younger sister of Lee Hsien Loong, the current Prime Minister of Singapore, and older sister of Lee Hsien Yang.

In this Chinese name, the family name is Lee (李).

A recipient of the President's Scholarship in 1973, she joined the medical faculty of the University of Singapore (now the National University of Singapore), specialising in paediatrics after graduating top of her class with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).[1] Starting her career in the paediatric ward at the Singapore General Hospital, she later received board certification from the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology (ABCN).

In August 2020, Lee revealed on her Facebook page that she had been diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a rare brain disorder that results in the weakening of certain muscles.[2]
