List of Airplay 100 number ones of the 2010s

The Airplay 100 is the national music chart of Romania. It is compiled weekly by broadcast monitoring service Media Forest, and measures the airplay of songs on radio stations and television channels throughout the country.[1] Since its launch on 26 February 2012, the Airplay 100 has been broadcast on-air each Sunday as a radio show on Kiss FM hosted by Cristi Nitzu.[2][3] The chart replaced the Romanian Top 100, which was also based on airplay data and had a similar compilation,[4] in 2012.[5][6]

Moldovan group Carla's Dreams (member pictured) was the most-successful act on the Airplay 100 in the 2010s with eight number-one singles.

During the 2010s, 90 singles have reached the number-one position, the first being "Ai Se Eu Te Pego" in 2012 by Brazilian singer Michel Teló. "Don't Be So Shy" (2016) by French singer Imany and "Shape of You" (2017) by English recording artist Ed Sheeran have each spent 12 weeks at the summit, longer than any other song. The most successful act was Moldovan musical project Carla's Dreams with eight number ones, followed by Romanian recording artists Andra and Smiley with four each. Cat Music have had a large impact on Romanian broadcasting starting with the chart's establishment year, having signed artists such as Smiley, 3 Sud Est, Elena Gheorghe and Voltaj. Every year, the label has released songs that have gone on to be featured on the list of the most broadcast ones in Romania.[7] Global Records are also notable, having signed Inna, Delia and Carla's Dreams.[8] The chart's last number one in the 2010s was "Dance Monkey" by Australian singer Tones and I.

Notes

  1. As the Airplay 100 did not publish any year-end charts in 2012 and 2013, the ones released by Media Forest, the chart's compiler, were taken into consideration for the given years.[11][12] In 2012, "Dă vina pe Voltaj" by Voltaj was listed as that year's most-played song by Media Forest, but it did not reach number one on the Airplay 100.[11]
  2. Between 22 June and 31 August 2014, only two editions the Airplay 100 were archived.[13][14]
  3. The 19 February 2017 edition of the Airplay 100 was either not published or not archived.
  4. Entries both as lead and featured artist are counted.
  5. Total weeks at number one are counted.
