List of FK Željezničar Sarajevo managers
Fudbalski klub Željezničar Sarajevo (English: Football Club Željezničar Sarajevo) is a professional football club based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since it had been founded on 17 September 1921, Željezničar has so far had 61 managers, 11 of them being only caretakers during some period of time. Some of them were named at that position more than once. The club did not have a manager at the beginning. It was before the second season that Adolf Šmit was chosen to be the manager and player at the same time.
Frequent manager changes are not unusual in Željezničar. However, there were several managers that stayed more than the others. Josip Šebalj, Milan Ribar, Ivica Osim and even his son Amar Osim are rare examples of long serving managers at the club. Amar Osim is also the club's most successful manager.[1] Ribar and the Osim's are also the three managers with the most managerial appearances for Željezničar.[2]
The club has so far in its history had three foreign managers. František Bičiště was from the former Czechoslovakia, László Fenyvesi from Hungary and most recently, Jiří Plíšek from the Czech Republic. All the others were from either Bosnia and Herzegovina or other parts of the former Yugoslavia.
