Note
  1. Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They recognize several different recipients, have runners-up and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.

If Beale Street Could Talk received acclaim from critics, who lauded the acting (particularly King), Jenkins' screenplay and direction, the cinematography and the musical score. At the 76th Golden Globe Awards, the film was nominated for three awards; Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Supporting Actress for King, and Best Screenplay, with King winning.[3] At the 24th Critics' Choice Awards, the film received five nominations, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress for King, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Both the National Board of Review and American Film Institute included it in their Top 10 Films of 2018.
