This is an organized incomplete list of all of the active aircraft squadrons that currently exist in the United States Air Force, sorted by type. Most squadrons have changed names and designations many times over the years, so they are listed by their current designation.

Aggressor Squadrons

Aggressor Squadrons' sole purpose is to train and evaluate United States Air Force fighter pilots who have either just received their fighter pilot status or those who want a refresher. They fly USAF aircraft with a different paint-scheme and act as "adversary" aircraft that student pilots must "shoot down."
