List of international cricket five-wicket hauls at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium

Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium is a cricket ground in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The first One Day International (ODI) and Test matches on the ground were played in February 2006. The first Twenty20 International (T20I) match on the ground was played in 2014.[1]

Shakib Al Hasan took four five-wicket hauls on the ground.

In cricket, a five-wicket haul (also known as a "five-for" or "fifer") refers to a bowler taking five or more wickets in a single innings. This is regarded as a notable achievement.[2] This article details the five-wicket hauls taken on the ground in official Test and Twenty20 International matches.[lower-alpha 1]

The first bowler to take a five-wicket haul in an international match on the ground was Muttiah Muralitharan for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh in the ground's first Test match in 2006. Muralitharan finished the innings with bowling figures of six wickets for 54 runs (6/54). The best figures in Test cricket on the ground are the 7/36 taken by Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan against New Zealand in 2008.[3]

Two five-wicket hauls have been taken in Twenty20 International matches on the ground, both during the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 competition which took place in Bangladesh. Dutch bowler Ahsan Malik took the first, against South Africa, taking 5/19. Sri Lanka's Rangana Herath took five wickets for just three runs on the ground later in the same competition. As of November 2020 No bowler has taken a five-wicket haul in a One Day International on the ground.[1][3]
