Ludovic Baal

Ludovic Baal (born 24 May 1986) is a French Guianese professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Ligue 1 club Stade Brestois 29.[1][2]

Club career

Le Mans

Born in French Guiana, Baal came through the Le Mans youth system, playing 12 games in his first season with Le Mans scoring 1 goal. His impressive performances earned him a spot in the starting 11 playing 38 Ligue 1 matches the following season. Baal scored his first goal against FC Metz, though Le Mans lost 4–3. Baal is known for being a hard full back known for his exceptional physical strength, pace and technique, and has been an important part of the Le Mans team since joining the club. Baal scored his second goal against AC Ajaccio giving Le Mans the 3–0 lead. That night he became the first player to score a goal in the MMArena.

Lens

Baal moved from Le Mans to Ligue 2 rivals RC Lens on 10 June 2011.[3]

Rennes

On 12 June 2015, Baal joined Rennes from Lens, who had been relegated to Ligue 2, signing a three-year contract.[4]
