Madhoo
Madhoo Shah[2] (born Madhubala; 26 March 1969) is an Indian film actress known for her works predominantly in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam language films.[3][4][5] She is best remembered for her portrayals in Kuku Kohli's Hindi hit Phool Aur Kaante (1991), Mani Ratnam's Tamil hit Roja (1992), which won the National Film Award for Best Film on National Integration, nomination for Best Film at the 18th Moscow International Film Festival; K. Raghavendra Rao's Telugu hit Allari Priyudu (1992), which was screened at the International Film Festival of India, in the mainstream section; Sangeeth Sivan's Malayalam hit Yodha (1992), and S. Shankar's Tamil hit Gentleman (1993).[6][7] She is the host of the well known music television series Rangoli on DD National channel since August 2019.

Early life and family
Madhoo is a Tamilian.[3] She was educated at St. Joseph's High School, Juhu and at University of Mumbai.[8][9] She is a niece of actress Hema Malini and therefore a cousin of Esha Deol.[7]
Career
Madhoo was signed by action director Veeru Devgan for his son Ajay Devgan's debut in Phool Aur Kaante (1991), but her first release was K. Balachander' s Azhagan (1991), co-starring Mammooty, Bhanupriya and Geetha.[6][7] She made her debut in the Malayalam film Ottayal Pattalam, opposite Mukesh. She made her comeback in 2008, in the Hindi-language film, Kabhi Socha Bhi Na Tha, and has been appearing in supporting roles in films since then. She has acted in 5 films with her real name Madhu. She made a comeback to the Tamil screen with Balaji Mohan's Tamil-Malayalam bilingual Vaayai Moodi Pesavum/Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram in 2014.[6] She is the host the DD National music television series Rangoli since August 2019.[10]
Personal life
She married Anand Shah on 19 February 1999. She has two daughters Amaya and Keia.[1][11][6]
