Marquesas hotspot

The Marquesas hotspot is a volcanic hotspot in the central Pacific Ocean. It is responsible for the Marquesas Islands, a group of 12 volcanic islands and one of the five archipelagos of French Polynesia.[1] The mantle plume responsible for the hotspot is presently though to underlie the Marquesas Fracture Zone Ridge.[2]

The Marquesas hotspot is marked 26 on map.
