Background and promotion

The single was a collaboration for Zion.T and Chungha, as part of the second series of high-profile collaborations from the Mnet series Song Farm.[4]

Composition and lyrics

"My Friend" was written by Zion.T, pH-1 and Taeo and produced by Zion.T, Park Jun-woo, MOON and pH-1. It runs for two minutes and twenty-nine seconds. The single talks about finding solace in friendship and learning to let go. While the song was put together originally as a fun soundtrack for the comedy show, it was also written to be an anthem of encouragement with its inspiring message that many can relate to during these difficult times.

Music video

The music video was released on May 30, 2020. Chungha was seen leaving the elegant fierceness seen in "Gotta Go" and "Stay Tonight", and relishes in her bubblegum charms and flaunts a breezy self-confidence. Meanwhile, Zion.T adds his signature quirkiness as the two playfully toss notes and papers at one another.
