Nadodi Thendral

Nadodi Thendral (transl. The nomadic breeze) is a 1992 Tamil language historical romance film, directed by Bharathiraja and written by Sujatha Rangarajan. It starred Karthik and Ranjitha in the lead roles. The music was provided by Ilaiyaraaja. Featuring an international cast, the film was a period movie set in British India and was based on a love triangle between a goldsmith (Karthik), a gypsy woman (Ranjitha) and the district collector's sister. Some critics opine that later movies such as the Hindi-language blockbuster Lagaan and the 2010 Tamil-language movie Madrasapattinam were inspired by Nadodi Thendral.
