It is a community school administered by Kirklees Council. The catchment area of the school includes Newsome, Lowerhouses, Lockwood, Berry Brow[2] and Almondbury.[3]
Newsome High School offers GCSEs, BTECs and NCFEs as programmes of study for pupils.[4]
The school is due to convert to academy status in March 2021, and will be renamed Newsome Academy.[5][6]
