Orivesi
Orivesi (Finnish pronunciation: [ˈo̞riˌʋe̞s̠i]; lit. "stallion water") is a town and a municipality of Finland. It is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of 9,094 (31 July 2020)[3] and covers an area of 960.09 square kilometres (370.69 sq mi) of which 160.53 km2 (61.98 sq mi) is water.[2] The population density is 11.37 inhabitants per square kilometre (29.4/sq mi). The municipality is unilingually Finnish.

Orivesi was founded in 1869.[1] The municipality of Eräjärvi was consolidated with Orivesi in 1973. A part of the municipality of Längelmäki was consolidated with Orivesi in 2007. Today, neighbouring municipalities are Juupajoki, Jämsä, Kangasala, Kuhmoinen, Ruovesi and Tampere. The distance from Orivesi to Tampere is 43 kilometres (27 mi).
Orivesi is mostly known for its Oriveden Opisto art school. The town center of Orivesi is located by the Lake Längelmävesi.
