Pokr Masrik

Pokr Masrik (Armenian: Փոքր Մասրիկ meaning "little Masrik"; Azerbaijani: Kiçik Məzrə, formerly, Malaya Mazra) is a town in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia. The town had an Azerbaijani population prior to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. It has a 12th-century church. Mets Masrik (big Masrik) is nearby.

Demographics

The population of the town consisted of 227 Azerbaijanis in 1831 rising to 1,200 Azerbaijanis in 1897 and to 1,375 by 1916.[1]

Around 2,000 Azerbaijani people lived in the village in 1987 until November 1988, when Azerbaijani inhabitants fled to Azerbaijan.[2]
