Progressive Convergence

Progressive Convergence (Spanish: Convergencia Progresista) is a Chilean political alliance created on October 8, 2018 and which is currently made up of the Party for Democracy (PPD), the Radical Party (PR) and the Socialist Party (PS).[1]

The political alliance was created as a coordination group of the social-democratic and center-left parties after the dissolution of the New Majority coalition, which was defeated in the 2017 general election.[2]

The group seeks to dialogue with other parties and coalitions such as the Communist Party and the Broad Front to oppose Chile Vamos.[3]

Composition

The alliance consisted of the three parties of the former New Majority.[4]
