Radu Sîrbu

Radu spent most of his childhood in his hometown, however, he moved to Orhei and Bălți for a time. He went back to Peresecina after the 9th grade in order to finish high school. During the 10th and 11th grade, he worked as a DJ at his father's nightclub, and organized musical theatre shows through his studio, "Artshow," which he created for children and teens. In 1996, after graduating, he began his studies at the Chișinău Music Conservatory, as well as teaching vocal classes for children on the side.

In 2001, Radu was selected to join the group O-Zone during a casting organized by the Moldavian singer Dan Balan. The group was then made up of three members: Radu, Balan and Arsenie Todiras (nicknamed Arsenium). Soon, the group which rapidly became extremely popular in Moldova, then moved to Bucharest in 2002 to expand their notoriety.[2]

The band had its first big success with 'Despre Tine' ('About You') which took the first place in the Romanian charts. Their second hit, 'Dragostea Din Tei' ('Love from the Linden Trees') brought O-Zone international fame. After spending four weeks at the top of the Romanian top 100, the Italian label Time Records offered a one-year contract to the band.[3] After its release in Italy at the beginning of 2004, the song became a hit all over Europe.[4] Dragostea Din Tei reached the first position in the French,[5] German,[6] Belgian,[7] Swiss[8] and Dutch[9] charts at the end of 2004.

In January 2005, Balan, Todiras, and Radu announced that O-Zone disbanded, deciding instead to focus on their respective solo careers. Balan moved to America making rock music with his band "Balan", and Arsenie launched a solo career in Germany under the name Arsenium. Radu also started to work on his solo projects. In 2005, he worked with DJ Mahay and released a song called "Dulce". He made a video on his song called "Whap-pa" and released his album Alone,[10] and more recently he released his single "Doi străini" ("Two strangers"),[11] and made a video for it. In 2007, he and Arsenium got together and released the single "July". He changed his stage name to RadU and currently lives in Romania with his wife, and his daughter.

As of March 2008, Radu worked on a new project called MR. & MS with his wife Anna. The information was revealed in June 2008 when he appeared on the Romanian talk show Teo on Antena 1. They released the single "Love Is Not a Reason to Cry" in 2008. Mr&Ms have also released an album, titled Heartbeat. The couple has done many performances together, and they appeared on Dansez Pentru Tine, where they performed a dance for talented young children without sufficient funds to attend dance classes.

Soon after releasing his first album under Mr&Ms, Radu began work with DJ Layla, and together they produced the song "Single Lady" sung by DJ Layla Feat. Alissa.[12] The lyrics were co-written by Radu and Ana Sirbu, the video has been released for "Single Lady", Single Lady had reached No.1, on Europa Plus Moscow/Russia. Radu has also released a second single with DJ Layla "City Of Sleeping Hearts" and released a music video for it always new and fresh music in collaboration with many new or well-known voices, all under the same brand – Wild Rose Project. All songs will be composed and produced by Radu Sirbu and the main voice of the project will be Radu. The first single of the project named “Ecstasy” is in collaboration with Dee-Dee. In 2014, Radu produced the song "Dynamite" sung by Liza Fox with lyric co-written by Radu Sîrbu, Anna Sîrbu, and Inessa Lee. The song reached the top 40 charts in the United Kingdom.
