Regents of the University of Colorado

The Regents of the University of Colorado comprise the governing board of the University of Colorado system. Established under Article IX, Section 9 of the Constitution of Colorado, the Board of Regents has 9 voting members. One regent is elected to represent each of Colorado's seven congressional districts, with two others elected by the state at large. They serve six-year terms, which are staggered so not all are elected at the same time.[1]

The Regents oversee the University's budget, they hire the University's president and other top University officials, and they set tuition and priorities.[2] They select a chair and vice-chair from their own membership.[3] Glen Gallegos is the current chair and Lesley Smith is the current vice chair.
