ResuRection

"ResuRection'" is a song by Russian trance group PPK. It was released in February 2001 as the lead single from their debut album Reload. The song was the first from a Russian act or USSR act to ever enter the charts in the United Kingdom, where it peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart in December 2001 and the song was awarded a Silver certification by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for sales of over 200,000 copies. Elsewhere, the song hit the top 10 in Flemish Belgium, Ireland, and the Netherlands, while also charting in Australia, Walloon Belgium and Finland. In the United States, the song peaked at number 26 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.

It was a reworking of Eduard Artemiev's theme from the 1979 film Siberiade.

Paul Oakenfold signed the record to his label Planet Perfecto upon hearing it when he was playing a set at Gorky Park (Moscow). He says that PPK handed him the record, he listened to it on his headphones, and signed the record immediately. He tells this story on the Planet Perfecto Podcast, Episode 532 at 20:37.
