Personal life

Rukiya started training in Kyokushin Karate at a young age along his brother, they both left the world of Karate competitions with high accolades. Japanese television did a short documentary when they were children depicting them as Karate prodigies.[2][3]

In 2018 he and his brother left the TRYHARD gym from Tokyo to open their own gym called All WIN in Osaka which they established with the help of crowdfunding.[4]

Kickboxing career

During K-1 World GP 2017, Rukiya Anpo scored a jumping switch kick knockout of Hiroshi Mizumachi to begin a four fight winning streak.[5] Anpo fought Wang Zhiwei during the Wu Lin Feng 2017: China VS Europe event.[6] He won the fight by a unanimous decision. During Krush 77, he knocked Deng Zeqi out with a first round flying knee.[7] His last win of this winning streak came against Kyoshiro, against whom Anpo won a unanimous decision.[8]

The winning streak was snapped by Gonnapar Weerasakreck, who knocked Anpo out midway through the second round, with a left cross.[9][10]

Following this loss, Anpo began another winning streak with a third round knockout of Kenta Hayashi.[11] His next fight against Hideaki Yamazaki went into an extra fourth round, where Anpo managed to knock Yamazaki out with a head kick. Anpo then faced Daizo Sasaki during K'Festa 2.[12] Rukiya won the fight through a unanimous decision.[13]

This winning streak earned him a chance to fight for the title.[14] Anpo won the K-1 Super Lightweight title during K-1 World GP 2019: Super Bantamweight World Tournament with a unanimous decision against Kaew Fairtex, after an extra fourth round was fought.[15][16] The fight was extremely controversial, and was voted the 2019 "Robbery of the Year" by Combat Press.[17] The controversial nature of the first fight warranted a rematch, which was scheduled for K-1 World GP in Nagoya.[18] The fight was again went into an extra round, with Anpo once again winning a unanimous decision.[19]

He made his second title defense against Fukashi during K-1: K’Festa 3. Rukiya won the fight by a unanimous decision.[20] Anpo is scheduled to defend his K-1 title for the third time, in a rematch with Hideaki Yamazaki.[21][22] Anpo lost the title fight by a first round knockout.[23]

Anpo was scheduled to fight Kaito at K'Festa 4.[24]
