Sarkhej (Vidhan Sabha constituency)

Sarkhej (सरखेज) Vidhan Sabha Constituency was one of the 182 assembly seats of Gujarat's Vidhan Sabha, in English the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, from 1975 until 2012. It was a largely urban seat representing there 115 of Ahmedabad. Its abolition, along with others and new replacement seats were drawn up in 2008, in readiness for the next election which proved to be in 2012.

  • While Indian government's sites support these figures, they are almost certainly misprints. A vidhan Sabha constituency just does not have so many voters that the winner would poll 4 lakhs or even 2 lakhs votes. Lok Sabha elections tend to produce such figures.
