History
The party was officially founded in 2020 by former Scottish National Party MSP Chic Brodie.[2][3] The party was officially registered by the Electoral Commission on the 9 September 2020.[4]
On 22 October 2020, Andy Doig became the first elected representative of the party, when he joined the party while sitting on Renfrewshire Council, having originally been elected as an independent and then later moving to the party. He had previously been both a Scottish National Party representative and an independent.[2]
