Scott A. Spellmon

Scott A. Spellmon is the 55th Chief of Engineers of the United States Army and the commanding general of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).[1] Spellmon graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1986 and was commissioned into the Army Corps of Engineers. Spellmon also has received master's degrees from both the United States Army War College and the University of Illinois.[2]

Raised in Bloomingdale, New Jersey, Spellmon graduated from Butler High School in 1982.[3]

In January 2020, President Donald Trump nominated Spellmon to succeed LTG Todd T. Semonite as the 55th Chief of Engineers.[4] Spellmon was confirmed by congress and officially assumed duties on September 10, 2020.[5]
