Seabrook Christian School

Seabrook Christian School is for students from Kindergarten to Grade 10 and has three campuses located in Somerset, Launceston, and Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.[1] Seabrook also offers home school support through their Christian Home Educators Support Service (CHESS). It was started in 1981 and was originally called Somerset Baptist Christian School.[2]

Mission statement

To train up students as individuals, to love the Lord, our God with all their heart, soul and strength and mind,(See Luke 10:27) and to develop their gifts and abilities in submission and service to Him, and in so doing, to show love and care to their fellow man.[3]

School objectives

TO INSTIL IN THE STUDENTS: Recognition of the sovereignty and Lordship of Christ. Respect for authority both parental and other. The need for discipline and correction. The need to embrace a positive approach to learning. The acceptance of his/her individuality.

TO ENCOURAGE THE PARENT TO: Respect the child as a person. Realise the value of the child. Recognise the individuality of the child as a unique person gifted by Christ. Realise the need for love if development is to take place. Become involved in the overall life training of their children through active participation in the life of the school community and in the home.

TO RECOGNISE: The training ministry of the staff and encourage social interaction between staff, students, parents and the Christian community.[4]

House system

Seabrook Christian School has two houses; Lions and Eagles. Throughout the year students compete in a number of competitions to gain points for their house with the winning house being rewarded at the end of the year.
