Skor

Skor is a chocolate toffee bar produced by The Hershey Company. It was first marketed in the United States in 1981 and later launched in Canada in 1983. The Skor bar consists of a thin slab of butter toffee covered in a milk chocolate coating. It was created to compete with the Heath bar, and is similar in style to both Heath and a Daim bar. Skor is available from retail stores as a single- or king size-wrapped candy bar in a 1.4 oz (39 gram) portion

Heath Bar Comparison

The Skor bar was originally created to compete with the Heath bar, produced by the Heath Company and later the Leaf Candy Company. Hershey eventually acquired the Leaf, Inc. company in 1996 and currently manufactures the Heath bar under the Hershey name. However, the Hershey company continues to market the Skor bar as well.

The Skor bar is very similar to its former competitor, the Heath bar. However, there are differences between the two, such as the Skor bar being slightly thinner than the Heath bar.[1]

Name

"Skör" (with umlaut dots over the "o") is Swedish for "brittle", and the crown that appears in the product's logo is identical to that found in the Swedish national emblem of Tre Kronor ("Three Crowns"). However, if one ignores the umlaut, the name becomes "Skor", which means "shoes" in Swedish.
