Stadium station (San Diego)

Stadium station is a temporarily closed San Diego Trolley stop on the Green Line. The elevated station has an island platform as well as side platforms. It is located in the under construction San Diego State University Mission Valley campus. It was originally built in the parking lot of the former SDCCU Stadium. When the stadium was in operation the station was frequently used during major stadium event days. The large parking lots around the former stadium served as a massive park and ride facility. Previously known as the Qualcomm Stadium station, it was renamed after Qualcomm's naming rights to the stadium expired in June 2017. The area around the station is undergoing re-development into part of San Diego State University's campus and Aztec Stadium for the San Diego State Aztecs football team.
