Tapan Ghosh
Tapan Ghosh (Bengali: তপন ঘোষ) was the Hindu nationalist leader from West Bengal, India and founder of Hindu Samhati.[1]
At the beginning he was the member of RSS, later he formed his own organization Hindu Samhati.
Early life
Tapan Ghosh was born on 11 May 1953 at Dakshinkhanda, Murshidabad, West Bengal. His father name was Sri Gangadhar Ghosh and mother name was smt. Anima Ghosh. He had two sisters. He never married.[2]
At the age of 13, he engaged with RSS. After completing school he went to Calcutta University and later completed his graduation in Physics. During his student life he entered student politics as a member of ABVP. He used to lead the “Buddha Amarnath Yatra” (Rajouri, J&K) with a large delegation.[3]
He traveled to different parts of India as a RSS pracharak including Delhi, Kashmir, West Bengal, Tripura, Assam etc.[4]
Forming Hindu Samhati
After serving more than three decades as a member of RSS, he felt that it was time to form a new organization to fulfil his agenda. Tapan Ghosh with his followers started Hindu Samhati in February 2008. Hindu Samhatis primary working area is Eastern India - West Bengal, Assam[5] and Jharkhand.
The main motto of Hindu Samhati is to work for Bengali Hindus and protect them from Islamic agration. Hindu Samhati, has celebrated the centenary year of Gopal Chandra Mukherjee, who “saved” many Hindu families from fanatic Muslim mob during the “Great Calcutta Killings” of 1946. [6] He was arrested by West Bengal police without any provocation, after a Ghar Wapsi program [7] arranged by his organization and one family returned back to treir original root Hinduism, falsely alleged to assault journalist. [8] Though later he get bail from Calcutta High Court along with his three arrested member [9]
Invited by UK, Israel, USA
British parliamentarian Bob Blackman invited him to the United Kingdom. Ghosh delivered his speech in a parliament committee room at Westminister. His speech was mainly about the plight of Bengali Hindus (Bangladesh as well as West Bengal) and the danger of radical Islam.[10]
He also went to the USA[11] and Israel on the invitation by the different organization (Hindu Congress of America, Indo-american Intellectual forum etc.) and delivered his speech and took interview in different television channel of America as well as israel.[12][13]
Death
In late June 2020, he was infected by COVID-19. On 11 July 2020, after spending 15 days in hospital, Tapan Ghosh died at the age of 67.[14][15]
