Tsubakihara was scheduled to fight Riku Morisaka during KHAOS 5. He won the fight by unanimous decision.[4]

After beating Morisaka, Tsubakiraha traded wins and losses in his next fight. During Krush 93, he was scheduled to fight Yusho Kanemoto, and won the fight by a second round TKO.[5] Tsubakihata fought a rematch with Taito Gunji during Krush 96.[6] The fight went into an extra fourth round, after which Gunji won by decision.[7][8] Tatsuya fought Ryuto during Krush 100, and won the bout by majority decision.[9] He dropped a majority decision against Aoshi during K-1's 2019 Osaka event.

Tsubakihara won a unanimous decision against Yuto Kuroda during Krush 108.[10] He next fought Shoya Masumoto during Krush 113.[11] He defeated Masumoto by a head kick KO in the third round.

Tsubakihara was scheduled to face the 2019 K-1 "Fighter of the Year", Yuki Egawa, at K-1's 2020 Osaka event.[12] Despite being the underdog, Tsubakihara managed to win a majority decision. It was the highest profile victory of his career.[13][14] The two of them were scheduled to fight a rematch for the K-1 Featherweight title at K-1: K’Festa 4.[15]
