A broadcast journalist previously for ABS-CBN, he previously presented news for Radyo Patrol Balita Alas-Siyete alongside Noli de Castro, and on his own program Failon Ngayon sa TeleRadyo. He also presented Hoy Gising!, the nightly news program TV Patrol from 2004 to 2020, and his own investigative program Failon Ngayon on television.

In 2009, Failon was arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife.[1] In 2017, he was arrested and charged with libel.[2]

On August 30, 2020, ABS-CBN management confirmed that Failon decided to part ways with the network. He made his final appearance on TV Patrol and Failon Ngayon sa TeleRadyo on August 31 and was later replaced by Henry Omaga-Diaz.[3][4][5]

Currently, he is a commentator and a disk jockey (a nod back to his roots as a former DJ for DWGV 99.1 in Pampanga) on the program Ted Failon at DJ Chacha sa Radyo5 for Radyo5 92.3 News FM along with Czarina Balba-Guevarra aka DJ Chacha (formerly of MOR 101.9 For Life!).
