Premise
A screw-up is forced to team up with an assassin after the two are confused for one another while staying at an Airbnb.

Production
Development
It was announced in January 2020 that Patrick Hughes was set to direct Robbie Fox's script The Man From Toronto, with Jason Blumenthal, Todd Black, Bill Bannerman, and Steve Tisch producing through Escape Artists, and Sony Pictures distributing.[1]
Casting
It was announced in January 2020 that Jason Statham and Kevin Hart had been set to star in the film.[1] In March, Statham would abruptly exit the project six weeks prior to filming after clashing with producers over the tone and rating of the film. Woody Harrelson was cast to replace him.[2][3] Kaley Cuoco was added to the cast in April,[4] and Pierson Fodé was added in May.[5] Jasmine Mathews, Ellen Barkin, Lela Loren, and Tomohisa Yamashita would be added in October.[6][7][8]
Filming
Filming was set to begin in April 2020 in Atlanta,[9] but in March, production was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[10]
Filming began on October 12, 2020 in Toronto.[11][12] Rob Hardy is the cinematographer.[13]
Music
The film's music will be composed by Ramin Djawadi.[14]
Release
The film was set to be released on November 20, 2020.[1] On April 24, 2020, the date was moved to September 17, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[15]
